  Watchtower encouraging members to go and preach in Israel

  an odd letter was read at last nights' meeting.

  it was in regards to a special campaign for next year arranged by the governing body to go and preach in israel.

  the call is going out to anybody that speaks hebrew and english.

  I make an observation between Christians and the watchtower.

  If a Chiristian had the desire or was encouraged to have the desire to do some sort of evangelical work.

  The Church, the flock support the worker.

  I was looking at books yesterday in a thrift store and encountered a lady working in the book section.

  I asked her does she work here. She said she volunteers.

  It was a charity book store that gave to pregnant women.

  I asked how do you support yourself so you can volunteer to work for free.

  She said she had her own ministry.

  She said her ministry was running a halfway house and that provided for her needs.

  That seems more biblcal Christain and ethical to me than the way the watchtower runs its printing/real estate business.

  What christians don't want to admit

  when i left the wt organization, i continued to believe in the bible, so i wanted to confirm and refine, as much as possible, my faith that the true god is in the bible.

  so i began to discuss with skilled christians, who were also ex-witnesses.

  but i was surprised when some of them tried to relax my fundamentalist position on the literalness of the genesis account.

  If there is scientific proof that Adam was not the first man,

  I guess we are all screwed.

  I am enjoying myself either way.

  I know there is an argument, I just don't totally buy it at this time.

  Maybe never.

  I have no incentive to buy it.

  If there is no god.

  Then I have no problem believing the earth is old.

  If there is a God and the bible can be argued true,

  Then I have trouble believing an old earth.

  I have read a lot of things discrediting the bible.

  But then I do further research and find things discrediting those discrediting the bible.

  Like Terry says each person believes what he wants to believe.

  At some point you have to make your mind up to believe in God and the bible or not to believe in it.

  Or maybe you can go through life undecided

  or unknowing.

  If your unknowing or unable to know that is one deffinition of an agnostic.

  A lot of people like to belong to a herd and like to label themselves and others.

  I don't suffer from that need very much.

  I like to observe and comment.

  If El is Jehovah that jibes with the bible, they talk about a council of Gods in genesis and Jehoavah el is the

  top God the creator.

  Everyone who decended from Adam and Eve, everyone in my thinking at this time would have known of

  El or Yahwah/Jehovah.

  If everything does not go back to Adam and Eves sin. Then Jesus and the ransome does not make sense, I agree.

  That is why.

  If one believes in the bible it is necessary to believe in a young earth.

  The bible says you have to study these things daily.

  I can see that.

  In this day and age you have to know what you believe because some one is always ready to knowingly

  or unknowinly snatch it from you.

  And when you know longer believe in the bible Adam and Eve, Jesus as God and ransome,

  You have nothing.

  You have freedom

  Freedom to be alone and lost.

  How else can you describe an atheist but lost.

  You live, you die thats it.

  Sounds like lost to me.

  I live, I die, I can do whatever I want, just like an atheist.

  I even know everything that an atheist knows.

  I have all their books and access to all their speeches and articles on the internet.

  But in the end I keep living in a life even better than this one.

  And in the end the atheist is lost.

  I spent a carerr in law, I was a court reporter and a deputy sheriff.

  I have witnessed many tirals civil and criminal.

  Very seldom are things black and white.

  That is why there is often a jury.

  And a jury decides things often right at the fulcrum.

  51% vs 49%.

  At this time I will still go with God, Jesus and the bible.

  I cant see any advantage to do away with them.

  And I do admit if there was no Adam and Eve we are lost.

  That is the whole basis and argument of the young earthers.

  So in that I take exception with the topic sentence.

  People who study the bible know that the earth must be young for it to work.

  Christians to me are people who believe and follow Jesus.

  it has nothing to do with what country you were born in what your parents believed.

  My mother was a Jehovahs witness that is not a Christian religion.

  I am a Christian because I believe and follow Jesus.

  Just because people go to war and call themselves Christians.

  does not make them Christians.

  I believe I have posted links above giving arguments about giants from both

  a young earth and an evolutionary perspective.

  I think they might both be from an evolutionary perspective.

  I can not find any evidence that Johnathan Gray is a young earther

  I'm not sure he is even a christian.

  Michael cremo is not a christian or a young earther.

  If you don't accept them that is fine.

  Personally I don't care. I am like you retired with lots of time on my hands.

  I don't see it making a difference in my life one way or the other.

  You do know that when you go to a museum and look at a dinosaur.

  That it is not real.

  Do you know that?

  They find one or two pieces of something and build a giant tyronasaures rex out of it,

  or a brontosaurus.

  I think what the museums are hiding is the giant people that were alive because of

  the water canopy before the flood.

  And if it is not because of the water canopy,

  I still think they are hiding skeletons of giant people.

  Wow, that cartoon has me speechless. You can't even joke about something like that, it's too self-parodying.

  James Brown: Praytell how do you know what's hidden in the back of museums?

  reading and looking on the internet.

  Archeologest Johnathan Gray says so.

  I do not necessarily believe or disbelieve him. But he has muddied the waters and cast a reasonable

  doubt.

  Johnathan Gray might not be the most reliabel arcehologist.

  But the government is not the most honest or believeable either.

  And the smithsonian is run by the government.

  As are probaly most of the museums in the Usa.

  The bible did cover it.

  You just dont accept it.

  Before the flood their was a canopy covering the earth and

  things grew big.

  Now after the flood things grow small.

  There is archelogical evidence filled away in the back of museums.

  They don't put it out because it doesnt jibe with evolution.

  Apparently someone has an agenda and is trying to shape society.

  My best friend died yesterday

  sometimes people make special connections to animals.

  sometimes they bond very deeply and are real friends.

  yesterday was the end of such a friendship that lasted ten wonderful years.

  Sorry for your loss.

  I have been there and done that and will probably be there a few more times in this life.

  There is nothing worse than lossing our dog friends.

  But on the other time there is nothing better than the good days with our dog friends.

  is it possible to raise good kids with out religious morals?

  making up my mind on how to teach my son values in life seems to be an on going struggle of what is right and wrong.

  being raised in a sheltered jw life until after leaving high school seems like going from one extreme to another of being over restrictive or under.

  trying to find that balance.

  is it possible to raise good kids with out religious morals?

  It depends on what you call good.

  I raised my son without religious morals.

  He hasnt been in jail yet,

  He is 40 and educated.

  He has 2 childred under 10.

  The jury is out on them, they seem to be good.

  Plastic buckets in Paradise

  i remember one picture of a pretty little girl holding a plastic bucket in paradise next to a tame lion.. i asked my wife if there is going to be polution in paradise?

  of course the answer is no!!!!!..

  i asked her where did the plastic bucket come from?

  Thinkg from a science fiction perspective.

  If a group of people were to live in a paradise like earth with no polution,

  They could import items from another world or another place.

  When I was young and lived in Cleveland Ohio.

  It was a steel town. The smog and poluttion was so bad you could not see the city

  from the top of the hill becaue it was covered with smog.

  Today the have exported all the jobs and steel millls out of Cleveland and from

  the top of the hill Cleveland kind of looks like a paradise with no jobs.

  I am just saying you could import a lot of things into paradise without having the polution,

  including energy.
